Vocal Massage Therapy (VMT)
Your voice shouldn't feel like hard work.
If your voice feels tired, tight or restricted - or you're simply asking a lot of it - Vocal Massage Therapy can help release unnecessary muscular tension and restore a greater sense of ease and freedom.
Vocal Massage Therapy (VMT) is a gentle, specialist hands-on treatment working with the muscles involved in voice and breathing. Whether you're a singer in the middle of a run, an actor preparing for performance, a professional voice user experiencing fatigue, or simply someone struggling with persistent tension around the jaw, neck or throat, treatment is tailored to you, your voice and what you need it to do.

"From the start I felt very engaged with the whole process. I was taking part rather than just being the passive recipient. Throughout the massage, Aimee explained each step and described the muscles and nerves involved, asking me if I was comfortable. She also reminded me how to breathe and relax. To sum up, I felt completely confident in Aimee’s very professional hands throughout the 30 minutes. I felt very good afterwards with all the built up tension released"

What happens during a session?
An initial consultation where we establish your treatment plan and what you would like to achieve. I use a biopsychosocial approach, meaning treatment is holistic and centred around you, with you actively involved in decisions about your care. Depending on what we find, treatment may include gentle hands-on work around the neck and throat, jaw and face, tongue, laryngeal area and muscles involved in breathing.
My approach
I trained in Vocal Massage Therapy with Stephen King at the Voice Care Centre a leading UK centre for vocal health and rehabilitation.
As an Estill Mentor & Course Instructor and professional voice coach, I bring detailed knowledge of vocal anatomy and function into every treatment.
That means we can explore not only where you're holding tension, but how that tension may be interacting with the way you're using your voice.
For singers, actors and other professional voice users, this can be particularly valuable: treatment isn't separate from your voice work — it's part of understanding the whole instrument.
